Clear Creek needs 6 1/2 out of a possible 14 points today to regain control of the Warren County Cup after an impressive day on Saturday.

Clear Creek golfers lead 8-6 after winning the fourball and alternate shot matches on Saturday by the score of 4-3. Singles matches begin this morning The Vicksburg Country Club team needs to score eight points in the singles matches to win their first Cup championship at Clear Creek since 1995. The Clear Creek golfers have never won the cup when playing at the country club.

The Warren County Cup pits Clear Creek’s best against VCC’s best in a two-day tournament. Most of Saturday’s matches were close, having been tied with the last pairing of Clear Creek golfers winning to give the hosts a lead.

The first group is scheduled to got out at 9 this morning. A total of 28 golfers — 14 per team — are participating in this year’s tournament.
