Footballs, falling leaves and festivals will all be in the air this weekend.
Large crowds are expected to hit the streets for the 25th Annual Old Court House Flea Market around Court Square Saturday, said director and museum curator Bubba Bolm.
Forecasts show a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms during the day and evening. Bolm said so far in its 25 years, the outdoor market has had only a few rainy days.
“We hope there’ll be good weather,” he said. “So far, we’ve had a good track record.”
The 13th Annual Downtown Vicksburg Fall Festival will also be under way and Vicksburg Main Street director Rosalie Theobald said it will bring a nonstop list of musicians, whose tunes will flow down Washington Street from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Entertainers scheduled to perform are William Michael Morgan, Vicksburg Rising Stars, Lost Cause, Thundercreek, Danny Scallions and Friends and Rainmakers.
The day’s events will begin at 8 a.m. with food and craft vendors surrounding the Old Court House. Bolm said almost every booth space has been reseved for the day, which promises a variety from alligator tails to funnel cakes and wooden furniture to plants.
“We’ll have a little bit of everything,” he said.
Music will be on tap on the Old Court House lawn, where musicians with the Mississippi Old Time Music Association will lead people in a jam session from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
“This is a family day — a chance for people to go up around the Old Court House and stroll downtown, where there will be plenty of fun things for kids to do,” Theobald said.
All participants are encouraged to use the parking garages near Washington Street — Walnut Towers and the Horizon Casino parking garage, she said.
