Nathaniel Gage Ellis

Nathaniel Gage Ellis, the infant son of Scott Everett Ellis and Melissa Kay Moffett, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2007, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.

In addition to his parents, Nathaniel is survived by a brother, Landen Ellis of Vicksburg; his maternal grandparents, Tony and Sarah Moffett; his paternal grandparents, Shirley Diane Wood of Vicksburg and Ricky Crumley of Vaiden; and other relatives.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Roger Cresswell, pastor of Berachah Church, officiating.

Visitation will be Wednesday at Riles Funeral Home from 9 a.m. until the service.

Charles Edward Roach

Charles Edward Roach died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007, at West Allis Memorial Hospital in Milwaukee, Wis. He was 58.

A Utica native, Mr. Roach had served in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife, Thelma Roach; a son, Ronald Floyd Roach; a daughter, Toni Michelle Roach; and other relatives and friends.

Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Harry A. Stewart Sr.

CANTON — Mr. Harry A. Stewart Sr. died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2007, at his home in Canton. He was 85.

A native of Bolivar County, he was the son of the late Lyle Howard and Katie Williams Stewart.

He lived his childhood in Port Gibson and graduated from Port Gibson High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart.

Mr. Stewart owned and operated Stewart’s Tractor Company for many years until he retired and made his home in Madison. He was a member of the Flora United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty; and son, Terry Stewart.

Mr. Stewart is survived by a daughter, Laura Sykes of Raymond; two sons, Harry Stewart Jr. of Madison and Larry Stewart of Vicksburg; nieces, Barbra Johnson of Madison and Martha Williamson of Atlanta, Ga.; nephews, Norman Milton of Raymond; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home with the Rev. Scott Pittman officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery with military honors.

Visitation will be from noon until the hour of the service.

Pallbearers will be Tony Pace, Jeff Stewart, Todd Miller, Nick Horne, Carl Johnson and Mike Milton.

Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home has charge of all arrangements.

Sadie Holmes White

Sadie Holmes White died Friday, Oct. 19, 2007, at Trinity Medical Center in Carrollton, Texas. She was 96.

Mrs. White was a homemaker. She was a member of Travelers Rest Baptist Church, where she was in the choir and was a member of the Mission Ministry.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore White; her parents, Wess and Mary Jane Holmes; five sisters, Ruby Claiborne, Mary Moore, Inez Murphy, Clara Bailey and Dorothy Holmes; and two brothers, Wesley Holmes and Dillard Holmes.

Survivors include a daughter, Gladys Holmes of Jackson; one sister, Kate Pernell of Winona; four brothers, Jamie Holmes of Toledo, Ohio, and Herbert Holmes, Joseph Holmes and Cade Holmes, all of Detroit; one granddaughter; one great-granddaughter; and other relatives and friends.
