Margie Thomas Barnes

PORT GIBSON — Margie Thomas Barnes died Monday, Nov. 12, 2007, at River Region Medical Center. She was 63.

Mrs. Barnes was preceded in death by her mother, Carrie Voss; her grandmother, Augusta Voss; and a sister, Emma Wiley.

She is survived by three brothers, Norman Peters of Palo Alto, Calif., Jimmy Voss of Springfield, Ill., and Charlie Stamps of Jackson; three sisters, Vivian Voss of Homewood, Ill., and Bertha Stamps and Mary Scott, both of Port Gibson; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including Odessa Reeves of Port Gibson.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Port Gibson with the Rev. James Dorsey officiating. Burial will follow at Scott’s Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home of Port Gibson.

Visitation will be at the church from 1 p.m. until the service.

Terrence Lamar Spratley

ALBION, Mich. — Terrence Lamar Spratley died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2007, in Albion, Mich. He was 31.

Born in Albion, Mr. Spratley had worked at Pizza Hut of Albion and at N.C.O. Enterprise in Jackson, Mich. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, where he was a former choir member.

He was preceded in death by his father, Terry Lee Lawler.

Survivors include one daughter, Tyra Thomas of Royal Oak, Mich.; two sons, Tagee Lamar Spratley and Timar Lee Spratley, both of Albion; his mother, Jacqueline Spratley of Bloomington, Ill.; a sister, Joslynn Ree Spratley of Bloomington; a brother, Terry Lee Lawler II of Litchfield, Mich.; his grandmother, Catherine Brown of Albion; and aunts, uncles, friends and other relatives, including Paralee Bowman of Albion and family members from Vicksburg.

Services will be at noon Tuesday at Bethel M.B. Church, 523 Washington St. in Albion, with the Rev. Fred H. Alexander Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon until 8 p.m. Monday at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Drive in Albion, and family hour will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday.
