Thelma Hubbard
Thelma Hubbard died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007. She was 100.
Mrs. Hubbard was a member of Travelers Rest Baptist Church and the Knights and Daughters of Tabor.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Adolph Hubbard; two daughters, Florie Carpenter and Beatrice Hubbard; her parents, James and Louise Carpenter; three brothers, Lucien “Buster” Carpenter, Valley Carpenter and Willie Carpenter; and eight sisters, Emma Carpenter Huell, Ella Carpenter Miller, Olivia Carpenter Turner, Katie Carpenter, Louise Carpenter, Nettie Carpenter Baker, Alberta “Toncie” Cain and Gertrude Carpenter.
She is survived by her nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Travelers Rest Baptist Church with the Rev. Thomas Bernard officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Carolyn Whatley
SHERWOOD, Ark. — Carolyn Whatley, 88, of Sherwood, Ark., went to be with her Lord Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007.
Carolyn was a longtime resident of Vicksburg and had recently relocated to Sherwood. She was born Oct. 4, 1919, in Little Rock, Ark., to the late Harvey D. Mixon and Alma Barton Mixon.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, William W. Whatley Sr.; two brothers; and one sister.
Mrs. Whatley is survived by one sister, Ruth Jane Mixon of West Memphis, Ark.; three children, William W. Whatley Jr. of Sherwood, James L. Whatley of Redway, Calif., and Linda B. Miller of Bovina; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services were at 11 a.m. Friday at Friendship Baptist Church in Sherwood.
The family extends special thanks to Arkansas Hospice Care and to Sharon Lea for the wonderful care given to Mrs. Whatley.

Felicia Wolfe
JACKSON — Services for Felicia Wolfe will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Church of Christ, Mission 66, with the Rev. Joe Harding officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 until 5 tonight at Williams Funeral Service and from 1 p.m. until the service Sunday.
Ms. Wolfe died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007, in Vicksburg. She was 57.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tommie Brown and Mary Greene Brown.
Employed with St. Dominic Medical Center as a medical technologist, Ms. Wolfe was a 1968 graduate of H.V. Cooper High School. She received a bachelor’s degree in biology from Tougaloo College, a certificate in medical technology from Meharry Medical College in Memphis and master’s degrees in public health and biology from Jackson State University.
She is survived by a son, Keith Wolfe of Vicksburg; a brother, Cecil L. Brown of Vicksburg; two sisters, Sharon Brown Judson and Natalie Brown Erves, both of Vicksburg; and other relatives, including William Erves and Perla Judson of Vicksburg.
