Fred W. Harris Jr.
Fred W. Harris Jr. died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2007, at River Region Medical Center. He was 90.
Mr. Harris was a native of West Helena, Ark., and lifelong resident of Vicksburg. He was of the Baptist faith. He retired from Hill City Towing. He was a charter member of Browns Point Hunting Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Inez and Fred Harris Sr.; two brothers, Alfred Harris and Jack Harris; a sister, Mary Pearl Jamison; two nieces, Ruth Ellen Wheeler and Maxine Jamison; and a great-niece, Donna Hynum.
He is survived by four nephews, Donnie Harris of Clinton, Dennis Harris of Jackson, Charles Harris and Stanley Harris, both of Vicksburg; five nieces, Patsy Brown of Natchez, Nancy Malone, Linda Richardson and Barbara Sager, all of Vicksburg, and Diana Brooks of Clinton; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Harris of Vicksburg.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Glenwood Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Tuesday until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will by Rusty Barnes, Elma Malone, Dennis Harris, Harold Whatley, Donnie Harris, Donald Oakes, Charles Harris and Stanley Harris.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tiny Antoine, Chris Antoine, Billy Boykin, Tommy Dykes, S.T. Barnes, Richard Studebaker, Jimmy Ware, Jim Fitzpatrick, Bendel White, Melvin Oakes, Floyd Oakes, Mike Kelly, Bill Lauderdale, Joe Lauderdale and Sperry Bartlett.
Alford L. Williams
Services for Alford L. Williams were at 11 this morning at Glenwood Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Brian Ivey officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation was today until the hour of service.
Mr. Williams died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007, at River Region Medical Center. He was 80.
Mr. Williams was a longtime resident of Eagle Lake where he was an avid fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William “Bill” Williams and Lillian Vivian Williams; a brother, Johnny Norman Williams; his wife, Rose Lee Williams; and a granddaughter, Elizabeth Nichole Stiltner.
He is survived by a son, Steven Lawrence Williams of Vicksburg; two daughters, Shirley Ann Nevels and Sara Lee Braezeale, both of Vicksburg; a sister, Christine Vivian Staggs of Vicksburg; 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Thomas H. Nevels, Wallace Braezeale, Raymond Little, Norman Williams, Johnnie Williams and Ronnie Staggs.
Honorary pallbearers were Steven Williams, Thomas Q. Nevels, Cameron Williams and Dakota Nevels.
