Gators, Vikings put two each on All-State team|[12/19/07]

Two players each from Warren Central and Vicksburg reeled in Mississippi High School Activities Association All-State football honors on Tuesday.
Reigning Vicksburg Post Defensive Player of the Year Carlos Williams and Mississippi State recruit Delmon Robinson were honored on the Class 4A All-State team.
Robinson, a defensive back, played Monday in the Mississippi-Alabama All-Star Classic, helping the Magnolia State’s best defeat Alabama 26-7. This season at Vicksburg High, he scored 11 touchdowns on offense and had an interception on defense.
Williams led the Gators with 148 tackles, had four sacks, blocked four punts and two kicks.
Warren Central placed two on the defensive team with linemen R.W. Comans and Bennie Peoples earning Class 5A All-State honors.
Comans and Peoples tied for second on the team with 75 tackles each, and Comans recovered a fumble.
Peoples led the Vikings with 4 1/2 sacks, 16 quarterback hurries and he also blocked a punt.
South Delta offensive lineman Bryan Stubbs and strong safety Anthony Carral both made the Class 2A team. South Delta reached the third round of the state playoffs this season.
Wesley Mounger of Clinton made the 5A team.
