Louise C. Cloud
Louise C. Cloud died Friday, Jan. 4, 2008, at River Region Medical Center. She was 92.
Born in Utica, Mrs. Cloud was the daughter of the late Otis Lamar Curtis and Verna “Dolly” Vaughn Curtis. Mrs. Cloud and her husband owned and operated Cloud’s Heating-Air Conditioning, Plumbing and Appliance Company for 36 years before retiring. Mrs. Cloud was active in the Salvation Army and Salvation Army Auxiliary. She was a member of Crawford Street United Methodist Church, working with Sunday School classes and the nursery for more than 25 years.
Mrs. Cloud was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.
Survivors include her husband, Henry E. Cloud of Vicksburg; one son, Dr. William Henry Cloud of Los Angeles; two daughters, Ann C. Knapp of Newberry, Fla., and Sharon Cloud of Vicksburg; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Riles Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bill Jemison and Dr. John G. McCall officiating. Mrs. Cloud’s burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. Monday until the hour of the service.
Pallbearers will be Bob Morrison III, John Townsend, Guy Owen, Beau Joseph, Cary Grantham, George Hunt, Richard Knox and Bobby Odom.
Honorary pallbearers will be Raymond Henderson, Fred Yates, Dr. Paul Pierce III, Dr. Walter Johnston and members of the Senior Sunday School Class at Crawford Street United Methodist Church.

Arnold Eason
TALLULAH — Services for Arnold Eason will be at 11 this morning in the Acts Tabernacle Church in Tallulah with the Rev. Greg Nichols officiating. Burial will follow at the Old Bethel Cemetery in Clarks, La., at 2:30 p.m. under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home of Tallulah.
Mr. Eason died Friday, Jan. 4, 2008, at Olive Branch Senior Care Center after a lengthy illness. He was 86.
He was born in Pickering, La., and he lived in Tallulah for 39 years. He was a retired lumber inspector and was a long-time member of the Acts Tabernacle Church. He was also a licensed minister for 39 years of the Apostolic Faith. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, serving in the European Theater.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Benson Eason of Tallulah; one son, Gary Michael Eason of Monroe; one daughter, Kathy Irene Martin of Lonoke, Ark.; two grandsons, Jonathan and Timothy of Lonoke, Ark.; one brother, Vernon Eason of Logansport, La.; one sister, Billie Mizell of Springhill, La.; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Timothy Martin, Lloyd Ray Fondren, William Earl Fondren, Marlon Glass and Lloyd “Tater” Fondren.
Charles Harris
Charles Harris died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008, at River Region Medical Center. He was 74.
Mr. Harris was a retired principal and a member of the Bingham Memorial Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jennie R. Harris; his parents, James and Ethel Harris; and one brother, James Harris Jr.
Survivors include one son, Charles L. Harris of Atlanta; four daughters, Ethel Harris, Cecelia Harris and Christine Cosby, all of Vicksburg, and Regina Harris-Jones of Memphis; seven grandchildren and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Alexander Kerr Jr.
BALL, La. — Services for Alexander Kerr Jr. were Saturday at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Ball, La. Burial followed at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
Mr. Kerr died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008, at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, La. He was 88.
He was born in Newport, R.I., to Alexander and Rachel Brooks Kerr. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, having served as an infantry officer in North Africa and Italy. He retired as a lieutenant colonel in the Army Reserves. He received the Bronze Star.
A graduate of the University of Rhode Island, he worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Soil Conservation Service and retired as area soil scientist for central Louisiana in 1974. He then worked as a national expert consultant on wetlands soils for 10 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother, all from Rhode Island.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Grace Lelia Trigg Kerr; three sons, Robert Engler of Vicksburg, Bruce Kerr of Houston and Gregory Kerr of Pineville, La.; one daughter, Diane Kerr Bass of Pineville, La.; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Rip Engler, Robbie Bonnette, Bradley Kerr, Bruce Kerr, George Matthews and Jack Bass.
