Annie B. Allen

Annie B. Allen died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008, at River Region Medical Center. She was 78.

Mrs. Allen was a homemaker.

Zachary Warren Beard

BRANDON — Zachary Warren “Zach” Beard died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2008, as the result of a four-wheeler accident in Jefferson County. He was 14.

A resident of Brandon, Zach was a homeschooled ninth-grader.

Survivors include his parents, Kenny Jr. and Mickie Beard of Brandon; his maternal grandparents, Lamar and Velma Shumaker of Pearl; his paternal grandparents, Ken Sr. and Faye Beard of Terry; and aunts and uncles.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness in Brandon under the direction of Ott & Lee Funeral Home.

Calista A. Wright

Calista A. Wright died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2008, at Vicksburg Convalescent Home. She was 89.

Mrs. Wright was a lifelong resident of Vicksburg. She retired as a nurse from the old Vicksburg Infirmary after working for Dr. Hugh Johnston for 35 years. She was a member of Bowmar Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Strong.

Survivors include two sons, James S. Wright Jr. of Vicksburg and Charles Prince of Delta; one daughter, Barbara Smith of New Orleans; eight grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Glenwood Chapel with the Rev. Terry White officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Wednesday until the service.
