Dellora “Faye” Maxwell Bosley died Friday, Feb. 22, 2008, at Shady Lawn Nursing Home. She was 89.

Mrs. Bosley was a retired beautician and a member of Pleasant Green M.B. Church. She was a longtime resident of Vicksburg.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Melba Jean Bosley Powell; her father, David A. Maxwell; her mother, Beulah Virginia Davis Maxwell; and three sisters, Thelma Warren, Maxine M. Bunch and Dorothy Boose.

She is survived by her husband, James Bosley Sr. of Vicksburg; a son, James “Jimmy” Bosley Jr. of Burke, Va.; four brothers, Donald Maxwell, Dale K. Maxwell of Vicksburg, Richard A. Maxwell of Clarksdale and Milton A. Maxwell of Carbondale, Ill.; three grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ruth Loyd

Ruth Loyd died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008, at Covenant Health & Rehab Nursing Home in Vicksburg. She was 72.

Mrs. Loyd was retired as a secretary for Mississippi College and a resident of Pattison for many years. She was a member of Pattison Baptist Church, where she directed the choir and was Sunday school secretary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lloyd; her father, Willie P. Dalton; her mother, Maude Bell Dalton; her brother, Huey P. Dalton; and her niece, Michelle Tynes.

She is survived by two sons, James Loyd of Philadelphia, Miss., and Randy Loyd of Clinton; three daughters, Lisa Norwood and Karen Teoleton, both of Richland, and Charlyn Wilson of McIntosh, Fla.; one brother, Don Dalton of Shreveport; one sister, Rachel Tynes of Bethany, La; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Pattison Baptist Church. The Rev. Cliff Nelson will officiate.

Burial will be at Unity Baptist Church Cemetery in Jefferson County.

Visitation will this evening from 5 until 8:30 at Glenwood Funeral Home in Port Gibson.

Pallbearers will be Marvin Lutz, Ricky Gooch, Chris Loyd, Vernon Loyd, Larry Loyd and Jerry Trim.
