Lonnie Harwell

CONWAY, Ark. –Lonnie Harwell died Friday, Feb. 22, 2008, at his home in Conway, Ark. He was 60.

Mr. Harwell was born in Booneville, Ark. He had a career in sales. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Margaret Harwell; one sister, Wynema Lee.

Survivors include two sons, Kevin Harwell and Lance Harwell, both of Conway; two sisters, Mary Reed of Vicksburg and Paula Sawyer of Fayetteville, Ark.; and one grandson.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Griffin Leggett Funeral Home, 1751 Dave Ward Drive in Conway.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. and last until the service.

Hamilton Ben Brown Jr.

Hamilton Ben Brown Jr. died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008, at his home in Vicksburg. He was 74.

He retired as a social studies teacher with the Vicksburg Warren School District. He was also a retired salesman from J.C. Penney. He was a life member of the Retired Teachers Association. He served in the Army for two years during the Korea War. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and was a member of the Mississippi Valley State Alumni Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hamilton Brown Sr. and Janie Brown; one brother, Samuel Brown.

Survivors include his wife, Gwendolyn Brown of Vicksburg; one son, Hamilton Cartez Brown of Westchester, Ohio; three daughters, Valtressia Brown Austin of Flowood, Tracie L. Brown of Daphne, Ala., and Yolanda Brown of Brandon; three sisters, Althenia Jefferson of Vicksburg, Laura Vickers of Jackson and Barbara Neither of Virginia; five grandchildren; numerous relatives and friends.

Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
