The owner, an employee of the business, had the vehicle listed for sale and had given an interested buyer a chance to “listen to the engine,” police investigations analyst Suzan Ebeling said.

Upon completing a workshift, the employee found the vehicle gone. The pickup has a Mississippi tag, 417 WA8.

A black and silver 1997 Chevrolet Suburban was reported missing from the parking lot of China Buffet, 4150 S. Frontage Road. The owner returned to find it missing after being in the restaurant about 10 minutes, Ebeling said.
