Riverfest organizers were gearing for the 21st annual street party along Washington Street.
Today’s rain was expected to clear out in time for evening events, said Brad Bryant with the National Weather Service in Jackson.
Gates open at 6.
“We have a metorologist and we’ve checked all the stations, and they all say (the rain) will all be done by 5,” said Erin Hern, a Riverfest board member.
If rain continues, Vicksburg police will make the call on whether the festival will continue.
