Clear Creek Men’s Golf Association report
A tournament is scheduled for Wolf Hollow Golf Course on Thursday on the Copiah-Lincoln Community College campus in Wesson. Tee-off is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. and lunch will be provided. Sign-up sheets are available at the Clear Creek clubhouse or golfers can call the clubhouse at 601-638-9395 to be added to the list. Deadline to register is Tuesday.
Call Max Reed if you sign up but cannot make the tournament.
Clear Creek Ladies Golf Association report
On Wednesday, the ladies of Clear Creek will have their monthly business meeting at 8 a.m. at the Clear Creek clubhouse. Following the meeting, the ladies will play a game of Odd Holes.
On Saturday, the ladies will play a game of Odd Holes with check-in set for 9:30 a.m. and tee-off at 10.
AAU tournaments scheduled for WC
The State Amateur Athletic Union-Mississipppi girls 15-under division and open division tournament scheduled for May 30, 31 and June 1 at Northwest Rankin High School. Entry fee is $175 per team and deadline to enter is May 3. For information, call Donny Fuller at 601-636-1890.

Lady Vikes camp scheduled for June
Lady Vike Basketball Camp is scheduled for June 9-13 at WC for girls entering grades 2 through 8. Cost is $50.

Tryouts set for WC hoops
Tryouts for Warren Central’s girls varsity basketball team are scheduled for May 12-16, 2:45 to 4 p.m. each day. All players must have a current physical, T-shirt, shorts and basketball shoes to try out.
VCC hosting BancorpSouth meet
Vicksburg Country Club will host the annual BancorpSouth 2-man golf scramble on May 17 and 18. Cost is $250 per team. That includes a gift, greens fees, practice round and lunch on both days, Saturday supper and beverages both days.
The field will be flighted after the first day. Gift certificates will be awarded to the top three players in each flight. In addition to flight prizes, closest-to-the-pin and longest drive prizes will be awarded.

Clear Creek hosting junior golf camps
Clear Creek assistant pro Chris Rutherford will host junior golf camps for all players regardless of age or ability. The camps are scheduled for June 9-13, June 23-27, July 7-11, and July 28-Aug. 1.
The camp includes instruction, range balls, gift bags, play on the course, refreshments each day and a pizza/awards party the last day.
WC slow-pitch and fast-pitch tryouts
Warren Central will host tryouts for both slow-pitch and fast-pitch softball May 6, 7 and 9, 3 to 5 p.m. each day at Lady Vikes Field. Players must bring a current physical.

Warren Central girls soccer tryouts
Tryouts for Warren Central’s girls soccer team will be May 14-16, on the front field at WC, at 3 p.m. each day. Tryouts for players in grades 9-12 will be on May 14 and 16, while trouts for players in grades 7 and 8 will be on May 15. All participants must wear shinguards, have a current physical and parent consent form.

Ninth-grade Gators having hoops tryouts
Tryouts for the Vicksburg High ninth-grade team are scheduled for April 28-30 in the gym. Players must have a completed physical, third nine-weeks test scores, shorts and shoes.

Ninth-grade Vikings hosting hoops tryouts
Warren Central will have tryouts for the ninth-grade team April 30-May 2 at Warren Junior High from 2:30 to 4 p.m. each day.
Warren Central soccer tryouts set
The WC boys soccer team will have tryouts May 12-14 on the practice field facing Mississippi 27 at 3 p.m. each day for players in grades 7-12.
Players must wear shin guards, have a current physical and a parental consent form.

Youth baseball weekly report
10-year-oldsGood Samaritan 7, Grey Plumbing 5
Jeremy Williams and Brayden Stokes each singled twice and Dale Griffith belted a double to help Good Samaritan improve to 3-0 on the year. Williams also got the win on the mound. He allowed five hits and struck out three. Nate Heard doubled and singled to lead Grey Plumbing, while Taft Nesmith doubled. Mason Todd struck out three and allowed four hits in the loss.
Good Samaritan 15, Cooper Lighting 8
Good Samaritan remained unbeaten behind Dale Griffith’s two doubles and Brayden Stokes’ home run. Matthew Register and Jesse Fuller each hit doubles, while Brandon McDuff and Jeremy Williams each had two singles in the win.
Register struck out four to earn the win, in which Good Samaritan scored 12 runs over the first two innings. Liam Hopson doubled in the loss.
