Rain tonight could move Temple mural ceremony|[05/08/08]

If rain develops before a mural unveiling scheduled for tonight at City Front, the ceremony will be moved to the Southern Cultural Heritage Center at 1302 Adams St.

Nellie Caldwell, mural committee chairman, said a decision will be made early this afternoon to either go on with the 6 p.m. unveiling as planned or opt for an indoor venue.

“Right now it looks like it’s going to be OK,” she said this morning.

The mural depicts the Rosa A. Temple High School, and is to be unveiled by alumni as well as Vicksburg Mayor Laurence Leyens and Aldermen Sid Beauman and Michael Mayfield.
