Brenda Kay Bailey
Brenda Kay Bailey died Saturday, May 24, 2008, at her home. She was 51.
Miss Bailey was a lifelong resident of Vicksburg and worked for Nebblett’s Frame Outlet for 10 years. She was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her father, Larry B. Bailey Jr.
Survivors include her mother, Marie Tucker Bailey of Vicksburg; and a sister, Norma Jean Lindsey of Vicksburg.
Services will be at noon Tuesday at Terry City Cemetery in Terry.
Visitation will be from 9 until 11 a.m. Tuesday at Glenwood Funeral Home.
Amos JohnsonAmos Johnson died Saturday, May 24, 2008, at East Mississippi State Hospital in Meridian. He was 65.
A 1961 graduate of Rosa A. Temple High School, Mr. Johnson attended Utica Junior College. He was a former member of Greater Mount Zion M.B. Church.
Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents, Elijah Johnson Sr. and Florida Johnson; and a brother, Tom Johnson.
He is survived by two brothers, Elijah Johnson Jr. of Vicksburg and Willie Johnson of St. Louis, Mo.; two sisters, Florence Harmon of Greenwood and Alberta McDuffie of Memphis; and nieces and nephews.
W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Lee Spears Kearns
Lee Spears Kearns died Saturday, May 24, 2008, at Covenant Health and Rehab in Vicksburg. She was 98.
Mrs. Kearns, a native of Meridian, had been a Vicksburg resident since 1942. She was formerly employed by Pinewood Motel and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and the Cooties.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Bea Mathews and Minnie Oltermari; and one brother, Earl Spears.
Survivors include her husband, Billy Kearns of Vicksburg; two stepdaughters, Margaret Blackwell and Chris Flanagan, both of Vicksburg; two sisters, Sandy Sanders and Lurlene Walker, both of Vicksburg; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Brian Ivey officiating.
Visitation will be from noon until the hour of service at Glenwood Funeral Home.
