A Lorman man was arrested in Claiborne County Sunday and charged with using a stolen credit card in Vicksburg, police said.
Londell Barber, 23, 5159 Woodbine Road, was pulled over by Claiborne County deputies at 11:50 p.m.
Vicksburg Police Lt. Bobby Stewart said Barber had an outstanding warrant for credit card fraud. Stewart said Barber used a card, which had been reported stolen by an Alcorn State University student, to make purchases of about $600 at Source Clothing, 3505 Pemberton Square Blvd., and $200 at Wal-Mart SuperCenter, 2150 Iowa Blvd. The purchases occurred March 12, Stewart said.
Barber was in the Issaquena County Jail on a $10,000 bond this morning.
Truck with keys inside stolen at Home Depot
A truck with the keys left inside was reported stolen from the parking lot of The Home Depot Friday, police said.
At 12:15 p.m., police received a report of a white 2002 Ford F-150 stolen from in front of the store at 50 Halls Ferry Park Road, Vicksburg Police Lt. Bobby Stewart said. The driver of the vehicle had gone into the store and left the vehicle unlocked with the keys inside, Stewart added.
The truck had Mississippi tag 193 WC1 and Bost Plumbing written on the side.
Three air-conditioners stolen, vandalized
Three air-conditioning units were stolen or vandalized during the three-day weekend.
Two Trane units, one weighing 5 tons and the other 2 tons, were reported stolen from a home in the 1100 block of the First North Street at 2:43 p.m. Saturday, police said. The units were valued at $2,500 and $1,200. The home was vacant at the time of the burglary.
The next day at 10:06 a.m., the Warren County Sheriff’s Department received a report of a vandalized 3-ton unit in the 6100 block of Jeff Davis Road that had been stripped of its copper. The unit was valued at about $8,000.
Six other city burglaries were reported to police during the holiday weekend:
At 8:47 p.m. Friday, an auto burglary in the 2900 block of Clay Street. Missing was a $100 purse containing $20 and other items.
A 42-inch flat screen TV, a 32-inch flat screen TV and a PlayStation 2 from a home in the 200 block of Tully Street. The total value was listed at $1,750. The report was received at 10:40 p.m. Sunday.
At 2:07 a.m. Monday, after an alarm at the Quick Stop at 5738 U.S. 61 North, police found the front door window broken and 20 packs of Marlboro cigarettes stolen. The value was $70.
A female golden retriever valued at $200 and a male black Lab, valued at $300, were stolen from a home in the 200 block of Buena Vista Drive. The report was received at 9:17 a.m. Monday.
At 6:08 p.m. Monday, a residential burglary in the 1600 block of Marcus Street. Missing was a Thermo space heater, a three-piece marble table set and an antique bedroom suite. The total value was $900.
A Dell laptop computer valued at $1,300, from Palmer Mechanical, 5925 N. Washington. The burglary was reported at 12:09 a.m. today.
Vicksburg woman injured in one-car wreck on I-20
A Vicksburg woman was listed in stable condition this morning after her vehicle left the road and hit a tree Monday afternoon, police said.
Sheniqua Pittard, 20, 116 Azalea Lane, was taken River Region Medical Center after she wrecked her Honda Accord on Interstate 20 East near Indiana Avenue. Vicksburg Police officer Eric Paymon said Pittard side-swiped an 18-wheeler, lost control and went off the road into a tree.
