Berkmon Cason Jr.

CRESTVIEW, Fla. – Berkmon Cason Jr. died Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at North Okaloosa Medical Center in Crestview, Fla. He was 73.

Mr. Cason was retired from the U.S. Air Force, a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was born in Warren County and was a former member of King Soloman M.B. Church in Vicksburg. He had lived in Crestview for 40 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Faye Cason; his father, Berkmon Cason Sr.; his mother, Josie B. Cason; his brother, James Sanders; and his sister, Estella Sanders.

Survivors include three brothers, Willie Cason of Jackson, Mich., Johnny Cason of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Rayfield Cason of Detroit; four sisters, Mary Figures of Chicago, Charity Cason and Helen Jenkins, both of Grand Rapids, and Rosie Cason of Vicksburg; and members of the Terrel, Cason and Ford families in Vicksburg.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Zion Church of the Living God in Crestview with burial at Spring Hill Cemetery in Crestview. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. at McKillie Funeral Home in Crestview.
