Two teenagers held in 5 Tallulah burglaries|[06/02/08]

Two juveniles were arrested in Madison Parish Sunday and charged with five counts of burglary after sheriff’s deputies found them in a home that has been burglarized four times in the past two months, said Chief Deputy Sammie Byrd of the Madison Parish Sheriff’s Department.

A 15-year-old and a 16-year-old were arrested at 9 a.m. Sunday at the home on Florida Street in Tallulah. Police were led to the home when an alarm sounded and found one of the juveniles inside the home, Byrd said.

The two arrested were in custody and scheduled to have their first court appearance this morning.

City man charged with cocaine possessionA Vicksburg man was arrested Friday and charged with possession of cocaine, said Lt. Bobby Stewart of the Vicksburg Police Department.

Rickey Stewart, 52, 40 Mississippi 80, was arrested at 8:57 a.m. and was in the Issaquena County Jail without bond this morning.

Copper reported missing on Dudley Road

Copper coil from an air conditioning unit was reported stolen from a home in the 500 block of Dudley Road Saturday at 12:31 p.m., Warren County records show. The copper was valued at $1,000.

Burglaries, auto theft reported in Vicksburg

Vicksburg police reported two burglaries and an auto theft over the weekend, said Lt. Bobby Stewart:

A 1995 blue Isuzu Rodeo valued at $6,000 was reported stolen at 9:03 a.m. Friday from OK Used Cars, 1460 S. Frontage Road.

A Motorola cell phone valued at $200 and a gold ring with diamonds valued at $400 were reported stolen at 12:30 p.m. Saturday from a home in the 1400 block of Bowmar Avenue, where entry was gained from a back door.

Employees at River Ship Builders, 404 Port City Terminal, reported $300 in quarters missing from the business, where entry was gained through a window at 10:27 a.m. Sunday.

3 injured in wrecks during weekend

Three people were treated and released from River Region Medical Center, a hospital spokesman said this morning, in three separate wrecks over the weekend, according to reports with the Vicksburg Fire Department. They were:

Alice Ringo, 42, 1208 Locust St., the driver of an unknown vehicle, at a wreck at 2203 Clay St. that occurred at 1:07 p.m. Friday.

Quashanda Oliver, 19, 204 Lovers Lane, a passenger in a wreck at Mission and Clay streets, at 4:40 p.m. Sunday.

Hwacha Woodward, 62, 55 Post Oak Lane, a passenger in a wreck that occurred at 6:01 a.m. Sunday at 5159 U.S. 61 South.
