From staff reports
The March of Dimes will host a March for Babies at the Outlets at Vicksburg Saturday.
Registration will begin at 8 a.m.; teams and individuals are welcome. The walk will cover 2 miles and is open to the public. Donations will be accepted.
Last year’s walk helped raise $23,000, and the goal for this year is $25,000. Proceeds will go toward the prevention of birth defects, premature births and infant mortality.
The March of Dimes was the first organization in the nation to hold a walk to raise money. This will be the group’s 80th year to hold such an event nationwide and Vicksburg’s 25th year to act as a host city.
