A Vicksburg man was arrested Sunday at Grove and Walnut streets at 2:12 a.m. on charges of attempted aggravated assault stemming from a Saturday shooting.
John Hicks, 25, 117 Village Drive, is accused of shooting at a person while on a lot at Mission 66 and Clay Street, said Vicksburg Police Lt. Bobby Stewart.
City man charged as felon with gun
A Vicksburg man was arrested on Saturday at 4:45 p.m. on charges of weapon possession by a felon, Vicksburg Police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.
James McCoy, 67, 98 N. Frontage Road, was arrested at Mission and Clay streets. He was released on a $5000 bond.
Vicksburg man charged with eluding police
A Vicksburg man was arrested Friday at 5:35 a.m. on charges of felony eluding.
Dwayne Evans, 29, 1310 Crawford St., was arrested at Magnolia and Court streets after he refused to stop when police tried to pull him over for speeding on Cherry Street.
Evans was released on a $10,000 bond.
Truck stolen in Jackson recovered on Belva Drive
Vicksburg police recovered an abandoned 1995 GMC Sierra pickup at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday in the 600 block of Belva Drive, Vicksburg Police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.
The truck was reported stolen in Jackson on April 11.
Video games hot in weekend burglaries
Several items were reported stolen over the weekend in Vicksburg.Vicksburg Police Lt. Bobby Stewart reported:
A PlayStation 2 valued at $280 and $30 in change were reported stolen from an auto at 4:14 p.m. Friday in the 4300 block of Halls Ferry Road.
An Xbox 360 valued at $280 and 6 Xbox 360 games valued at $200 were reported stolen at 4:22 a.m. Saturday in the 200 block of Spout Spring Road.
A 5-ton outdoor central air unit valued at $1,200 was reported stolen at 11:14 a.m. Saturday in the 3200 block of Washington Street.
Cash in the amount of $150 was reported stolen at 6:02 a.m. Sunday in the 2300 block of South Frontage Road.
Cash in the amount of $100 was reported stolen out of a 2005 Toyota Celica at 3:35 p.m. in the 3400 block of Pemberton Square Boulevard.
A strong-armed robbery at Cherry and Belmont streets was reported Sunday at 8:30 p.m. The victim stated he was attacked by a man. Stolen were a gold necklace valued at $300 and a PlayStation valued at $250.
Gas, saddles, AC condenser among items taken
Gasoline and an outdoor air conditioning unit were among the items stolen over the weekend according to Warren County Jail records:
*Gasoline was reported siphoned out of three golf carts at the Clear Creek Golf Course at 6:44 a.m. today. The gasoline had a combined value of $400.
A fan motor valued at $1,500 was reported stolen from a central air unit on Saturday at 3:20 p.m. in the 200 block of Lealand Drive.
Two large brown western saddles with a combined value of $500 were reported stolen at 2:58 p.m. Saturday in the 500 block of Henry Lake Road.
An air conditioning unit condenser valued at $3,000 was reported stolen Thursday at 2:56 p.m. in the 200 block of Overlook Drive.
