Vipers win opener at USFA World Series

The Vicksburg Vipers rallied from a four-run deficit with five in the bottom of the sixth to beat the Texas Thunderstruck in the opening game of the United States Fast-pitch Association’s 8-and-under World Series on Wednesday in Panama City, Fla.

Michelle Howington had two hits for the Vipers, Breanna hasty drove in the tying run with a single, and Hannah Cranfield singled in the winning run.

Later Wednesday, the Vipers lost to the Frost Falcons of Nashville 15-3. Matilyn Hasty led the Vipers by going 2-for-2.

The Vipers were scheduled to play again today at 11 and if they win that game, they would play Friday at 8 a.m.
