Four sentences handed down by circuit judges|[07/26/08]

In Warren County Circuit Court during the week that ended Friday:
Timothy Clark, 21, 260 Hall Road, was sentenced by Judge Frank Vollor to 20 years with 10 suspended and five years of probation for armed robbery, 35 years for armed carjacking and 10 years for possession of a weapon after a felony conviction after he pleaded guilty to all three counts. The charges stem from a July 4, 2007, robbery.
Avance Banks Jr., 32, 1506 Lane St., had his suspended sentence revoked after he was found by the court to have violated his probation. Banks’ suspended sentence stemmed from a July 1996 armed robbery. Judge Isadore Patrick sentenced him to five years in prison.
Lee Edwards Yates, 49, 712 Speed St., had his suspended sentence revoked after he was found by the court to have violated his probation by committing a third shoplifting offense. Yates’ suspended sentence stemmed from a 2006 conviction of felony shoplifting for which he was sentenced to five years in the drug court program. Patrick sentenced Yates to five years in prison with credit for the time he spent at the Restoration House, part of the drug court program.
Jeffrey Shelley, 31, 6720 Mississippi 27, pleaded guilty to sale of cocaine and was sentenced by Vollor to 25 years with five suspended. Shelley’s conviction also caused a previous suspended sentence, stemming from a May 2005 burglary, to be revoked. He was ordered to serve 12 years.
Vollor sentenced Virgil Germaine Woods, 21, 18160 Lincolnshire Blvd., Ridgeland, to 35 years after he pleaded guilty to a March 2007 armed robbery.
Kirby Lamar Allen, 34, 814 Court St., Tallulah, was sentenced by Patrick to six years with one to serve and post-release supervision. He also was ordered to pay $3,186.90 in fines.
Ernest Lee Johnson, 33, 1140 Judge Sekul Road, Apt. 10, Biloxi, pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana in the amount of more than five kilograms and was sentenced by Patrick to six years with three to serve and after-release supervision. He also was ordered to pay $5,312.50 in fines.
Darren Fields, 42, 373 Fleetwood Drive, Jackson, was sentenced by Vollor to 15 years for two armed robberies and 15 years for three counts of armed robbery, bringing the total to 30 years.
