Four from Vicksburg, Tallulah charged in burglaries|[07/31/08]

Three people from Vicksburg and one from Tallulah have been charged in Madison Parish burglaries that began in late May, said James Rash, an investigator with the Madison Parish Sheriff’s Department.
A fifth person was expected to be charged today.
Madison deputies have recovered several thousand dollars in stolen items, including guns and copper wire. The wire was being sold at Vicksburg Recycling.
Arrested were:
Joshua Moore, 17, 765 Hankinson Road, on one count of felony theft. Moore was released from the Madison Parish Jail on a $5,000 bond.
Holly Hasty, 22, 206 Buena Vista Drive, on two counts of simple burglary. Hasty was free on a $24,000 bond.
Holly Hart, 22, 1163 Standard Hill Road, on two counts of simple burglary. Hart was in the Madison Parish Jail on a $24,000 bond.
Francelia Thomas, 38, 116 Oakwood Road, Tallulah, on possession of stolen goods. Thomas was released on a $2,000 bond.
4 charged in drive-by at Speed, Marshall
Four Vicksburg men were charged with drive-by shooting and discharging a firearm within city limits.
On Tuesday night, a Vicksburg police officer on patrol saw someone shoot a gun from a tan Chevrolet Impala in the area of Speed and Marshall streets, said VPD criminal intelligence analyst Suzan Ebeling. The officer pulled the car over on Letitia Street. A .38 revolver and .38 special were recovered. A second .38 special was found on Speed Street, between Marshall and Lake streets.
No one was injured. Arrested were:
Cedrick Leon Hall, 21, 2814 Drummond St.
Chicolby Johnson, 18, 3655 Wisconsin Ave.
Shannon Cortez Tillman, 21, 205 Hills of the Valley.
Albert Collins, 21, 110 Springridge Drive.
Bond amounts for each were $75,000. All were released except Johnson, who was in the Warren County Jail this morning.
City woman arrested in embezzlement
A Vicksburg woman has been charged with embezzlement. Joyce M. Strong, 23, 615 Santa Rosa Court, was arrested at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday by Vicksburg police.
The arrest stemmed from a complaint filed July 9 by JCPenney. Strong was released on a $10,000 bond.
The amount embezzled was not available.
Purse, cash, checks snatched at Bumpers
A Wednesday night robbery was reported by a manager of a Mississippi 27 drive-in restaurant.
Just after 11, the night manager of Bumpers was leaving when a man pulled open her car door and took her purse, said Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace.
The purse contained personal items as well as checks and cash from the restaurant that were ready for deposit. No arrest had been made.
$7,000 reported missing from Washington Street
Vicksburg police received a report of stolen items from a Washington Street home Wednesday night.
At 9:51, $7,000 was reported missing from the 3100 block of Washington Street.
Teen who was shot treated, released
A 14-year-old boy who was accidently shot has been treated and released from River Region Medical Center, said hospital spokesman Allen Karel.
Three Vicksburg teens, two 14-year-olds and a 13-year-old, were at a county residence July 24 when a .38-caliber handgun accidently discharged, striking the boy in the neck, under the jaw.
