Ten free, white-flowering dogwood trees will be given to those who join the Arbor Day Foundation during August.

The foundation is a national group that encourages the planting and care of trees. The giveaway is part of the foundation’s Trees For America campaign.

The trees will be shipped between Oct. 15 and Dec. 10, the ideal time for planting. They will be 6 to 12 inches high and are guaranteed to grow or they will be replaced for free. Planting instructions and a copy of “The Tree Book” will be included.

To receive the trees, send a $10 membership contribution to Ten Dogwoods, Arbor Day Foundation, 100 Arbor Ave., Nebraska City, NE 68410 by Aug. 31 or join online at www.arborday.org.
