A Vicksburg man was in the Warren County Jail this morning, accused of kicking in the front door of his former girlfriend’s home, cutting her with a knife and stealing her purse.

Stacey Dixon, 37, no street address available, was arrested in the 100 block of Vann Drive shortly after the attack in the 200 block of Countryside Road, Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said.

Deputies arrested Dixon after spotting his Chrysler New Yorker in a ditch on Vann Drive.

Dixon faces charges of burglary and domestic assault, Pace said.

City man charged in attempted burglary

A Vicksburg man was arrested Friday at a house he was attempting to burglarize, Vicksburg police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.

Robert Buck, 30, 20 Waterwell Road, was arrested at 11:50 a.m. in the 300 block of Linda Street and was charged with burglary of an occupied dwelling.

Buck also was charged with auto theft after police realized the 1999 GMC Sonoma pickup he was driving had been reported stolen from Exxon at Mission 66 and Clay Street on Aug. 21.

He was released on $25,000 bond.

Local woman jailed for forgery, burglary

A Vicksburg woman surrendered to police Friday on charges dating to June 16, Vicksburg police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.

Jennifer Trimble, 38, 2439 Tucker Road, was charged with one count of auto burglary and two counts of uttering forgery. She remained in the Warren County Jail this morning.

Prentiss man jailed in December car theft

A Prentiss man was in the Warren County Jail this morning, charged in an auto theft here after he was picked up and held for months in Lafayette Parish, La.

Antonio Griffith, 21, 412 Skatering Road, was driving a 1996 Toyota Camry stolen in Vicksburg when he was arrested Feb. 18 in Lafayette on unrelated charges, said Vicksburg police Lt. Bobby Stewart. The car had been reported missing from the 1200 block of Cherry Street three months earlier, Stewart said.

He was held by Lafayette authorities until his return to Vicksburg Saturday.

Weekend burglaries, thefts run gamut of tools, supplies

Electronic equipment and a rifle were among the items reported stolen over the weekend, Vicksburg police Lt. Bobby Stewart said:

About $450 and food valued at $150 were reported stolen Friday at 10:05 a.m. in the 90 block of King Street.

A Garmin global positioning system valued at $300 was reported stolen Friday at 3:30 p.m. from a 1999 GMC Sierra pickup in the zero block of Pemberton Place.

A Rocky Mountain radar detector valued at $350 and a Mio technology global positioning system were reported stolen Friday at 4:26 p.m. from a 2006 Chevrolet Avalanche in the parking lot of DiamondJacks Casino, 3990 Washington St.

A Luxaire air conditioning unit valued at $800 was reported stolen Saturday at 9:57 a.m. from behind a home in the 300 block of Bayou Boulevard.

A GE gas water heater valued at $300, a gas wall heater valued at $250 and an air conditioner valued at $500 were reported stolen Saturday at 10:47 a.m. in the 300 block of Crestline Drive.

A Redmax chain saw valued at $360 and a Redmax hedge trimmer valued at $400 were reported stolen Sunday at 5:35 p.m. from a truck tool box in the parking lot of Rainbow Casino, 1380 Warrenton Road.

A Panasonic VCR valued at $95 and a Remington .22 caliber rifle valued at $180 were reported stolen Sunday at 5:51 p.m. in the 1800 block of Court Street.

A Dell computer valued at $1,000 was reported stolen at 5:43 this morning from a business in the 1000 block of Monroe Street.

City teen remains critical after wreck on Nailor

A Vicksburg teen injured in a Nailor Road accident Friday was in critical but stable condition at University Medical Center this morning, a hospital spokesman said.

William Kirwin Bickford, 17, 239 Buchan Drive, was taken to River Region Medical Center and transferred after he lost control of the vehicle he was driving.

Passengers Autumn Stout, 16, 50 Clark Road, and Sarah Brewer, 17, 215 Poole Road, were treated and released from River Region Friday night.

None of the three was wearing a seatbelt, Sheriff Martin Pace said.

Former actor treated after wreck on 465

A Vicksburg man was treated and released following a single-car accident Sunday afternoon on Mississippi 465.

Jan Michael Vincent, 63, a former actor for whom officers declined to release a Vicksburg address, was taken to River Region Medical Center after he lost control of his vehicle.
