Travis Thornell scored on a 1-yard run in the second quarter and Josh Perry returned a fumble 25 yards in the third quarter as PCA built a 14-0 lead going into halftime.
After a scoreless third quarter, River Oaks scored 15 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to take a 15-14 lead with 1:45 to play. The Eagles were out of timeouts.
Quarterback Clayton Holmes completed two passes to Colby Rushing and Jeremy Roach hauled in a pass as the Eagles drove to the River Oaks 12-yard line to set up Greer, who kicked a 47-yarder in a preseason game earlier in the summer against Tallulah Academy.

Branning, a former Vicksburg High baseball coach, football coach and administrator, took over the post in July and is Tallulah’s athletic director and baseball coach as well.
On Friday, he got a pair of touchdown runs from Jes Shivers and a 12-yard scamper by Justin Horath. Tallulah led 13-0 at halftime before Claiborne scored in the third quarter on a 12-yard run by Zach Ruple.
Tallulah capped the scoring in the fourth on Shivers’ second TD run. Tandon Baker kicked two PATs.
Cody Landrum led all rushers with 139 yards on 20 carries, while Horath had 102 yards on 20 carries.
Darren Lott led a strong defensive effort with 11 tackles, a sack and a fumble recovery. Baker had seven tackles.
Tallulah is scheduled to play Veritas next Friday night.
