Services for Joseph Squire Jr. will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Bright Morning Star Church with the Rev. Reginald Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until 6 today at Williams Funeral Service and Thursday at the church from 10 a.m. until the service.

Mr. Squire died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008, at his home. He was 59.

Mr. Squire was employed at the Engineering Research Development Center in the Public Works Welding and Pipe Shop as a plumber. He was in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and also served in the Army National Guard.

He was a member of Bright Morning Star M.B. Church, served as Usher Board president and was a graduate of the Rosa A. Temple High School Class of 1968.

Mr. Squire was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Squire Sr. and Rosie Squire; and his stepmother, June Squire.

Survivors include four sons, Joseph Dewayne Squire of Chula Vista, Calif., Kenneth Fultz of Georgia, Joseph Kelly of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Jeremy Squire of Vicksburg; two brothers, John King of Vicksburg and Bobby Joe Squire of Athens, Texas; three sisters, Rosie L. Fletcher of Las Vegas and Ida Kennedy and Claudia Herrington, both of Vicksburg; and grandchildren, nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends.
