Turner and Young to wed

The engagement of Kadedra LaChelle Turner to Ernest Paul Young Jr., both of Vicksburg, is announced today. Vows will be exchanged at 3 p.m. Oct. 18, 2008, at Spring Hill M.B. Church. A reception will follow at Vicksburg City Auditorium.

Miss Turner is the daughter of Romas Turner of Vicksburg and the late Walter Turner Jr. She is the granddaughter of the late Lee Braggs and Booker T. Mims Sr. of Utica and the late Alberta and Walter Turner Sr. of Vicksburg.

Mr. Young is the son of Erma Edwards and Ernest Paul Young Sr. of Vicksburg. He is the grandson of the late Hilda and Albert Young and the late Amilla Mallory, all of Vicksburg, and Tommy Mallory of Lake Placid, Fla.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Warren Central High School, where she was a member of the Beta Club, National Honor Society, Choices and Future Teachers of America.

She received a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of Southern Mississippi, where she was a member of Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity, National Honor Society, NAACP and Who’s Who Among College Students.

Miss Turner is a head teller at Trustmark National Bank.

The prospective groom is a graduate of Vicksburg High School. He attended Hinds Community College.

Mr. Young is a bulk merchandiser for Brown Bottling Distribution and a valet attendant at Ameristar Casino.
