Harold L. Simpson

Harold L. Simpson died Monday, Sept. 15, 2008, at his home. He was 72.

A Shreveport native, Mr. Simpson had lived in Vicksburg most of his life. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the Marine Corps. He retired from Cooper Lighting as a lighting designer and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Perry and Ethel Bixby Simpson; three sisters; and one brother.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Smith Simpson of Vicksburg; one daughter, Jada Bush of Vicksburg; two brothers, Floyd Simpson of Mary Esther, Fla., and Perry Simpson of Pulaski; and one grandson.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Revs. Macon Phillips and Dwight Sibley officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Sonny Hickman, Rolly Oldenburg, Chris Collins, Marty Collins, Bill Collins and John Mauck.
