Lem Conner Sr.

Services for Lem “Lembo” Conner Sr. will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Cool Springs M.B. Church with the Rev. Richard Jones Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church Saturday from noon until the service.

Mr. Conner died Friday, Sept. 12, 2008, at River Region Medical Center. He was 58.

Mr. Conner was born in Natchez. He was a 1974 graduate of McCall High School in Tallulah, where he was on the football team. He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston in 1978. A veteran of the Army, he was a member of Cool Springs M.B. Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richmon Smith Sr.; three brothers, Richmon Smith Jr., Willie Conner Jr. and Eddie Ray Smith; two sisters, Gloria Jean Conner and Edith Mae Conner; and his grandparents, Alice White, Esau Jones and Dora Fields.

Survivors include his wife, Lynda Williams Conner; two sons, Derrick Williams of Monroe and Lem Conner Jr. of Vicksburg; seven daughters, Lynlemda Conner, Naeasea Jones, Alanna Barnett, LaTonya Barnett and Sharon Barnett, all of Vicksburg, and Kemetra Doby and Colemra Ellis, both of Houston, Texas; his mother, Edith Mae Jones Conner of Tallulah; two brothers, Roy Lee Conner Sr. of Vicksburg and James Conner Sr. of Houston; one sister, Anita Jones Martin of Vicksburg; seven grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and other relatives, including Marie Williams of Vicksburg.
