Rena T. Jones passed away Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008, at River Region Medical Center after a lengthy illness. She was 80.

Mrs. Jones was a retired teacher from the Jackson Public Schools. She had been a resident of Vicksburg since 1986. She attended St. Alban’s Episcopal Church and, while living in Jackson, attended Alta Woods United Methodist Church where she was a member of the 60-Plus Club.

She was a member of Redwood Homemakers Club, Senior Friends and AARP.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hinds E. Jones.

Survivors include one son, Tom Jones and wife Angie of Vicksburg; two daughters, Deborah Rudder and husband Dwight of Madison and Barbara Hammer and husband Greg of Sumrall; and four grandchildren, Rena Hammer, Trent Hammer, Justin Jones and Jeremy Jones.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church with the Rev. Billie Abraham officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. at Mize Cemetery in Mize. Visitation will be from 4 until 6 p.m. today at Glenwood Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Greg Hammer, Dwight Rudder, Justin Jones, Jeremy Jones, Larry Cannon and Trent Hammer.
