The Southern Cultural Heritage Center has added a lunchtime concert series to its roster.
Classics in the Courtyard will feature live music and food catered by local restaurants. The outdoors events, set for noon on Fridays, will kick off Oct. 17 and wrap up Nov. 14. Cost is $7, and reservations must be made a day in advance.
“We have had great cooperation with everyone involved in this event, and I am really excited about it,” said SCHC Executive Director Annette Kirklin.
The fiddle, violin, guitar, piano and drums will be among the instruments played. If it rains during one of the concerts, the show will move inside.
The SCHC is on a city block bounded by Adams, Crawford, Clay and Cherry streets. It is the venue for events offered by the Southern Cultural Heritage Foundation. Upcoming events include Super Foods, Super Families, a cooking workshop; a copper wire bracelet seminar; a seasonal wreath workshop; a seminar of hand-tinting and coloring old photographs; and a digital camera workshop.
