Dr. Roy W. Rodgers

CLINTON — Dr. Roy W. Rodgers died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2008, at his home in Clinton. He was 59.
Dr. Rodgers was born in Lexington. He was a 1969 graduate of Lexington High School and received a degree from the seminary. He was pastor of Goodrum Baptist Church of Vicksburg for the past two years and served as vice president of Flag Chapel Bible College.
He was preceded in death by his father, James W. Rodgers; a brother, James Rodgers; and an infant son, Gary Wayne Rodgers.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Kathy Rodgers of Clinton; a son, Eric Rodgers; his mother, Grace Edwards Rodgers; and three brothers, Ray Rodgers, Phil Rodgers and Ronnie Rodgers.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Flag Chapel Baptist Church in Jackson. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park under the direction of Lakewood Funeral Home. Visitation will be at the church from 5 until 8 tonight and after noon Tuesday.
