LAKE CHARLES, La. — Emma L. Cannon Thomas died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008, at Lake Charles, La., Hospital. She was 68.

Mrs. Thomas was a native of Holly Bluff, La.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence Cannon Sr.; two brothers, Lawrence Cannon Jr. and Earl Cannon; and a sister, Callie Mae Houston.

Survivors include Linda Thomas of Lake Charles, La.; and six brothers, the Rev. James Cannon of Houston, Lee Cannon of Buna, Texas, Jerry Cannon of Beaumont, Texas, Eddie Cannon of Longview, Texas, and Nathaniel Martin of Mobile, Ala.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Church at Lake Charles with her brother Rev. Cannon presiding. Burial will follow at Combre Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service Monday at the church.
