Barbara Cook Jones died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008, at River Region Medical Center. She was 74,

Mrs. Jones was retired from the YMCA and of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Cook Sr. and Willie B. Ellis; a brother, Ernest Cook; and two sisters, Janie C. Williams and Stella Cason.

She is survived by her husband, Norman Jones of Vicksburg; four sons, Willie Jones of Virginia, Elbert Jones of Atlanta and David Jones and Ernest Jones, both of Vicksburg; four daughters, Norma L. Driver of Birmingham, Ala., Lisa C. Jones of San Antonio, Texas, and Verma Jones and Gloria Jones, both of Vicksburg; two brothers, James Ellis of Chicago and Willie Cook Jr. of Orlando, Fla.; four sisters, Evelyn Gray and Josephine Tolliver, both of Cleveland, Ohio, and Mary Ellis and Juanita Boyd, both of Baltimore; and grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
