We’re walkin’

Members of Tamela McRaney’s Warren Central Intermediate sixth-grade homeroom walk with a banner during Janie Williams’ physical education class. Students in the school were participating in a walking program that was aided by State Farm Insurance agent Ada Lauderdale, who donated 600 pedometers. Each class voted on a city in Mississippi that they wanted to “walk” to and, for the next couple of weeks, are recording their steps with the pedometers. Williams will help them convert their steps into miles and see if they walked far enough to reach their chosen city. McRaney’s class chose Biloxi, which is 204 miles from Vicksburg.
