Meeting Monday, the Warren County Board of Supervisors:

* Approved $28,500 as reimbursement for Kansas City Southern Railway’s inspection costs relating to the E.W. Haining Road bridge replacement.

Parts of the disaster grant-funded project, specifically the height of the bridge, will be inspected by KCS, because a portion involves railroad right of way. About $10 million in block grants is available for work to replace the structure leading into the Port of Vicksburg with a new, two-lane bridge.

About $4 million in Katrina-related disaster recovery grants are still available for another project to clean city drainage bayous. Supervisors are mulling whether to accept that money and have two years to act.

* Approved state-approved raises for County Prosecutor Richard Johnson and Justice Court Judges Richard Bradford, Joe Crevitt and Edwin Woods.

For Johnson, it equals $72,219, or 70 percent of the total allowed in a state law passed last year. Previously, the position was paid only what supervisors made, which was $44,812 here, plus $1,000 monthly for clerical expenses. The legislation allows Warren County to join Forrest, Rankin, Madison and Harrison counties in paying the position more.

For the three justice court judges, the raises moved their salaries to $49,549 or $4,737 more than supervisors. Both raises are effective according to language in the state legislation, which was Oct. 1.

* Approved a $19,079.80 payment to Mayrant & Associates for electrical work at 1401 Clay St., the planned new home for emergency dispatch.

The board also OK’d a $3,634 change order to remaining work on the facility concerning hardware on a security door.

* Transferred the concession building at Clear Creek Recreation Area to the Warren County Parks and Recreation Commission.

* Approved a $2,300 rent payment to River City Land Co., for use of the building used for Drug Court and the alternate site for Circuit Court.

* Recognized Earl Carson for 15 years of service in the Road Department and Kenny Ballard for 15 years of service in the Sheriff’s Department.

* Passed a resolution in support of the Make A Promise Coalition’s efforts against underage alcohol and drug abuse.
