Barbara Ann Prosser Forrest

Barbara Ann Prosser Forrest passed away at University Medical Center on Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008, after a very long illness. She was 55 years of age.

She was an honor graduate of H.V. Cooper High School, excelling in basketball and tennis. She was also an honor graduate of Mississippi State University, where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority.

Mrs. Forrest had been connected with the Warren County schools as a teacher assistant at Culkin and Beechwood for 19 years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by her father, H. Sidney Prosser.

Survivors include her husband, Wayne; two daughters, Jenny Forrest Winders and her husband, Cory, and grandson, Parker, of Madison, and Leanne Forrest Jones and her husband, Nathan, of Vicksburg; her parents, Tom and Agnes Mitchell of Vicksburg; one brother, Dr. Sidney Prosser and his wife, Jennifer, of Starkville, and their two sons, Andy Prosser and Will Prosser, both of Jackson; and other relatives in McComb, Jackson, Dallas and Melbourne, Fla.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church in Vicksburg with Dr. Tim Erskine, pastor, and Dr. John G. McCall, pastor emeritus of First Baptist Church of Vicksburg, officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park.

Visitation will be this evening from 5 until 7 at Riles Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Mike Biggers, Dave Bridgers, Ray Castellane, Jack Grogan, Marty Hendrix, David Jones, Dale McClung, Ricky Pennington and Derward Winders.

Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Ledbetter, Don Whittenberg, Dan Johnson, Nancy Biggers, Marsha Bridgers, Kathy Castellane, Rhonda Hendrix, Janet Jones, Paula Jones, Linda Johnson, Rosalind Ledbetter, Bo Whittenberg and all the ladies who drove Barbara to and from Jackson and the faculty at Beechwood Elementary.
