Christian band Third Day to perform at MC in Clinton

A Christian rock group that gained popularity in the ’90s will perform in Clinton next month.

Third Day, the winners of Dove and Grammy awards, will play at 6 p.m Nov. 23 at Mississippi College’s A.E. Wood Coliseum, said a news release from the Clinton school.

The MC show is part of the group’s LIVE Fall Tour with special guests Needtobreathe and Revive, a South Carloina-based group with Australian roots. The band’s other stops will include one at the University of Illinois Friday, University of Indiana Nov. 7 and First Baptist Church in Lafayette, La., Nov. 22.

Third Day got its start in the 1990s in the Atlanta suburb of Marietta, Ga.

Its members are lead singer Mac Powell, bassist Tai Anderson, drummer David Carr and guitarist Mark Lee. Powell and Lee are its founding members.

Tickets for the MC show are $25 and are available at www.tickets.com, LifeWay Christian Stores on County Line Road in Jackson and in the MC cafeteria.

MC is about a half-hour east of Vicksburg by way of Intersate 20.
