The Rev. Jessie Jones, pastor of Soul Savers M.B. Church, will be the guest speaker. The celebration will kick off at 2:30 p.m. and will conclude at 4.

“I hope there is a good turnout,” said Mary Lee Robbins, the church’s secretary. “Our church is struggling, financially, and is down to only seven members. One of the reasons we are trying to keep the church alive is because my grandfather, Ben Amos, was one of the founders of the church.”

The Soul Saver M.B. Church choir will perform.

“We are excited and happy to be a part of this celebration,” said Carolyn Smith, president of the Soul Savers M.B. choir. We are originally from New Orleans, and Mount Hebron M.B. was the first to embrace us when we moved here after Katrina. We are going to sing spirit-filled songs with that New Orleans flavor.”

The Rev. Willie J. White is pastor of  Mount Hebron M.B. and has been for 15 years.
