City man charged with statutory rape

A Vicksburg man surrendered to police Wednesday after a warrant was issued on charges of statutory rape, Vicksburg police Lt. Bobby Stewart said this morning.

Lonia Alonzo Wright, 27, 2630 Ken Karyl Ave., was charged in an incident May 9 involving a child younger than 16.

He was released from the Warren County Jail on $15,000 bond.

Truck reported stolen on Belva Drive

A vehicle was reported stolen this morning at 3:54 from the 600 block of Belva Drive, Vicksburg Police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.

The 2007 4-door Chevrolet Silverado truck was locked, Stewart said, but there was no sign of broken glass on the ground. The truck is light blue, with a Mississippi NASCAR tag number 614N03.

Local man charged with prescription fraud

A Vicksburg man was arrested at 10 a.m. Wednesday on charges of prescription fraud.

Gerald Wayne Tedder, 50, 69 Burnt House Road, was released on his own recognizance from the Warren County Jail.

Edwards man charged with probation violation

An Edwards man was arrested at 6:25 p.m. Wednesday in Covington, La. and charged with violating probation.

Roosevelt Thomas, 34, no known physical address, remained in the Warren County Jail this morning.

Three people injured in two vehicle wrecks

A wreck at 5:46 this morning on LeTourneau Road sent two Vicksburg men to River Region Medical Center.

Christian Morales, 23, and Moises Zuno, 20, both of 780 U.S. 61 North, were treated and released, a hospital spokesman said.

A Vicksburg woman was injured in a wreck Wednesday, at 876 U.S. 61 North.

Amanda Strong, 25, of 101 Michael Lane, was taken to River Region, where she was treated and released.

Computer equipment missing from truck

An auto burglary in the 100 block of Old Gibson Road was reported Wednesday to the Warren County Sheriff’s office.

Stolen from an unlocked 1999 Dodge Durango was a black dufflebag valued at $30, which contained a Compaq laptop computer valued at $900, two USB jump drives worth $50, one DC portable printer valued at $45, and one AT&T USB wireless modem with a value of $200.
