Nina Jones Alvarez

Nina Jones Alvarez died Monday, Nov. 10, 2008, in Metairie, La., where she had been a resident for the past 45 years. She was 74.
Born in Vicksburg, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Fuller Jones Jr. and Josephine Morrissey Jones. She was also preceded in death by her grandparents, Tom and Josephine Morrissey; and her aunt, Marion Jones Longstreth, all of Vicksburg.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Richard D. Alvarez of Metairie; three sons, Richard Alvarez and his wife, Karen, of Tupelo, Mark Alvarez and his wife, Sally, of Mandeville, La., and Patrick Alvarez of Metairie; one daughter, Jeanne Moore and her husband, Earle, of Senatobia; eight grandchildren; a brother, Jesse D. Fuller Jones III of Leavenworth, Kan; a sister, Mary Kavanaugh of Vicksburg; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Graveside services will be at noon Friday at Cedar Hill Cemetery with Monsignor Patrick Farrell, pastor of St. Paul Catholic Church, officiating. Visitation will be at Riles Funeral Home from 10:30 a.m. Friday until the hour of the service.
