Services for Norman James Smith Jr. will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Church of Christ with Larry Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until 6 p.m. Friday at Robbins Funeral Home.

Mr. Smith died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008, at River Region Medical Center. He was 79. He was a member of Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Smith; his parents, Norman James Smith Sr. and Regina Collins England; a son, James Henry Smith; four sisters; and one brother.

Survivors include a son, Norman James Smith III of Vicksburg; two daughters, Kathryn Smith Thibodeaux of Houston and Patsy Smith Dean of Creve Coeur, Mo.; a sister, Dorothy Warren of Vicksburg; three brothers, Willie England of Jackson, Alonzo England of Vicksburg and Johnny England of San Diego; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and numerous relatives and friends.
