Bessie Mae Smith died Monday, Nov. 17, 2008, at River Region Medical Center. She was 92.

A native of Chickasaw County, Mrs. Smith was the daughter of the late Alvin and Susie Hamilton Franklin. She had lived most of her life in Warren County.

She retired as a nurse’s aide from the Sydney Home and was a member of the Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; six siblings; and her husband, E.G. Smith.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home with the Revs. Erick Welch and Les Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow at Yokena Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. Friday until the service.

Pallbearers will be Chris Irons, Jason Smith, Evan Smith, Lee Smith, Mark Smith, Frank Smith, Alan Smith and James Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be Colin Barnes and Dr. N.N. Shenoy.
