Services for Adam Walker Jr. will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Pleasant Green M.B. Church. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 until 6 p.m. Thursday at Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home and Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until the service.
Mr. Walker died Friday, Nov. 28, 2008, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. He was 62.
Mr. Walker was a 1966 graduate of Rosa A. Temple High School, and he attended business college in Dallas. He had retired from the retail industry in Dallas before returning to his native Vicksburg.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lauris Chartley Walker; and his parents, Adam Walker Sr. and Flora Walker.
Survivors include a son, Shane Walker of Juneau, Alaska; a daughter, Shannon Walker of Dallas; four brothers, Charlie Walker of Gulfport, Ernest Walker and Willie Walker, both of Vicksburg, and Larry Walker of Jackson; a sister, Lottie Walker of Vicksburg; one grandchild; and nieces, nephews and other relatives, including Percy Walker, Martha Walker and Shirley Walker, all of Vicksburg, Marilyn Walker of Gulfport and the Hoye and Walker families.
