Registrations to participate in a 5K Walk/Run across the old U.S. 80 bridge across the Mississippi River on Saturday will be accepted until the time of the event, organizers said.

A desk will be set up near the approaches to the old bridge for those interested in the Great Strides, said Laurie Martin of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Mississippi Chapter.

Registration is $25 for adults and free for children with an adult’s consent. The event begins at 8 a.m.

Proceeds will benefit the foundation in efforts to find a cure for the disease. First- and second-place male and female finishers will receive dinner for two at Pearl’s Oyster Bar at Ameristar Casino. The top individual fundraiser will receive a one-night stay at the casino’s hotel and dinner for two at the restaurant.
