The primitive weapon deer season kicked off Tuesday in Zone 1, which encompasses Warren and surrounding counties, as did the second span of the youth season for those younger than 16.

Both seasons last through Dec. 15.

On Dec. 16, rifle season without dogs begins for all hunters. Bag limits for all seasons are one buck per day — 4 points or more — not to exceed three per license year.

The bag limit on antlerless deer is the same as bucks, except two additional does may be harvested with a bow per license year. Youths may harvest one doe or any deer with any hardened antlers per season. Hunting licenses can be purchased at local sporting stores, by calling 1-800-5GO-HUNT or online at www.mdwfp.com.
