Phil W. Vance died Sunday, Dec. 7, 2008, at Natchez Regional Hospital. He was 58.

Born in Washington State, Mr. Vance had been a resident of Vicksburg for a number of years. He was an auto-glass installer and enjoyed painting and fishing. He was a member of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by two daughters, Amanda M. Vance Fife (Rick) of Jefferson County and Dixie M. Vance of Vicksburg; two grandchildren, Lizzie Fife of Jefferson County and Braden S. Nolan of Vicksburg; his parents, Lonnie and Lucy Braswell Vance of Saltillo; and two sisters, Audrey M. Brewer of Saltillo and Eileen Bailey (Bill) of Vicksburg.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Boykin Vance.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Green Acres Memorial Park with the Rev. Lauri Rayborn officiating. Riles Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
