MOSS POINT — Herbert Gene Emrick died Friday, Nov. 28, 2008, in Ocean Springs. He was 62.

Mr. Emrick was born in Philadelphia to John Gordon Emrick and Mildred Boyd Pierce. He was a former Vicksburg resident and lived in Moss Point.

He served in the Army in the Vietnam war and retired after 27 years of service. He graduated from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, where he received an auto-marine training degree.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four siblings, Virginia Emrick Moore-Hill, Addie W. Emrick, Gordon W. Emrick and Julian E. Emrick.

Survivors include his wife of 11 years, Nicolette Tomasi; three sons, Floyd L. Emrick of Grenada, Russell R. Emrick of Moss Point and Gilven S. Emrick of Dallas, Texas; an adopted stepdaughter, Stephanie R. Emrick of Moss Point; one brother, Bobby L. Upton of Pascagoula; one sister, Julia O. Jones of Caldwell, Ark.; five grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Services were Dec. 3 with burial at Biloxi National Cemetery.
